Tumors and Cysts of the III Ventricle:

The majority of these tumors are benign but it is their deep location adjacent to the CSF pathways and neurovascular structures that make them challenging to treat. MRI is the imaging method of choice and thorough evaluation is necessary to determine the options for patients. These options may include endoscopic third ventriculostomy, shunt procedures, fenestration of cysts, aspiration of cysts, endoscopic and stereotactic biopsies and microsurgical excision of the lesions.
