The Failed Back Syndrome

The failed back syndrome, also known as the post-laminectomy syndrome, describes the persistent, significant pain that continues to occur after spinal surgery or multiple spinal surgeries. A careful review of tests is required to make certain that there are no additional problems that might be corrected with surgery. Treatment, however, is usually non-surgical and consists of medication, therapy and pain management.
