Dermoid Tumors:
Can be found anywhere within the skull and its contents with a preference for the midline and posterior fossa. These tumors enlarge slowly and symptoms are usually related to size plus location, but they can rupture and cause aseptic meningitis. There can be repeat attacks of bacterial meningitis if there is a dermal sinus trait onto the skin surface.
Treatment for dermoid tumors is surgical and evaluation with CT and MRI is necessary preoperatively.
